Artist Interview: Alexander (Sashi) Apostolov

Alexander (Sashi) Apostolov is a musician from Richmond Hill Ontario. He began developing an interest in music at an early age with the influence of his father who is a musician/composer. Sashi began taking piano lessons at the age of 4 and began expressing interest in playing the drums in middle school.
AADN:
What inspired you to pursue music?
Alexander:
Music having the power to cure and better people, and my need to create it.
AADN:
What does music mean to you?
Alexander:
Music is a fundamental part of my life. Without it, I cannot operate. Music is a means of expressing myself and connecting with the universe.
AADN:
How has your background influenced the music you make?
Alexander:
Music has accompanied me throughout my entire life. As an infant born to very musical parents, I had a knack for it. I was exposed to many different styles and grew up with complex music. Consequently, the music I make leans towards a more complex and deep kind.
AADN:
With your long list of accomplishments, what are you most looking forward to in your music career?
Alexander:
I look forward to developing a voice in composition and look forward to the time when my music uplifts people to bring their touch to it or write their own pieces.
AADN:
Why is the outreach of music globally so important to you?
Alexander:
The outreach of music globally is quite important to me because there is so much outstanding music out there, which is fundamental in inspiring, bringing different people together, and spreading ideas.
AADN:
Are you working on any future projects, performances or showcases in the future?
Alexander:
I am working on some original pieces for piano and a piece for orchestra.
